Big Little Chickens

ARTIST: LINDSEY O’SHIELDS
Location: Trailside Wall at Park West Vintage
About the Artist:
A community favorite, Big Little Chickens pays homage and references multiple icons of Marietta. The Big Chicken is known and loved by all Mariettans, and is always top of the list to show visitors when they come to check out this wonderful town. MARIETTA

MARIETTA

ARTIST: CRAIG STANLEY
Location: Trailside at Thaicoon & Sushi Bar
About the Artist:
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and at 6 months was adopted from foster care. As long as I can remember, my love of the arts was nurtured with the help of my loving family. While in the 2nd Grade, something very special happened-my love for art was born. The other students in school also admired my new found talent so much that, shortly thereafter, I began selling my drawings. In 1992 at the age of 15, I joined forces with several well-established companies around Kansas City and this led to me opening my own art studio in a popular mall in the City. A few years after graduation, I moved to Atlanta, GA to attend The Creative Circus School. While there, I furthered my knowledge as a graphic designer and illustrator. I also began supporting myself by painting music tour stage backdrops for major recording artist and set props for television shows and commercials. With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most world renown people and brands on the planet. Welcome to my world of art. Pétanque dans la Pénombre (Pétanque in the Twilight)

Pétanque dans la Pénombre (Pétanque in the Twilight)

Artist: Lindsey O’Shields
Location: Douceur de France, Marietta Location
About the Artwork:
The mural was inspired by a photograph O’Shields took during a trip to France. Her choice of colors were blended from Czech artist Alphonse Mucha’s colors and the bakery’s macarons. “Paris feels like Mucha designed it,” she says. “He didn’t, but that’s how I feel. It feels very art nouveau and his colors are happy but rich. The owners of the bakery, Danielle and Luc Beaudot, work so amazingly hard and to watch them be successful, it’s just been really great,” she said. “I just wanted to do something fun for them that was pretty.”

Artist: Christina Kwan
Location: Atherton Square-Side wall
About the Artist:
Christina Kwan is an Atlanta-based artist known for her abstract and floral works on paper. Her interest in creating art began from a young age and was always, for her, considered a natural pursuit that was secondary to her academic achievements. It wasn't until college that she realized she couldn't deny the power of her passion. She continued to develop her voice through drawing, painting, and experimental installations inspired by floral imagery and the fragility of human relationships. Christina is now a freelance media and creative consultant, in addition to being an artist. She continues to explore imagery that moves the spirit through calligraphic strokes, fluid movement and precise marks.
