M2R TrailFest is a public arts festival featuring the debut of numerous art installations in Downtown Marietta along portions of the Mountain to River Trail and in public parks. From large scale murals to Art Drops, the arts come alive throughout the entire day of the festival. With dance, singing, music, interactive art and so much more for all ages, this event is the celebration of the year for our #mariettaARTscene.

For this session, our speaker is Beth Hughes, Executive Director of the Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre and esteemed member of the arts community in Marietta. She previously served in various roles at the Birmingham Ballet from 2003 – 2018, and before that worked as the Director of Dance Studies for the Gadsden Community School for the Arts. In 2018, Hughes began working as costume manager at Georgia Dance Conservatory, and soon after entered the classroom as a ballet instructor in 2019. That same year, GMDT hired Hughes as the managing director of the company as well as assistant stage manager.

From the completion of their new ampitheatre to public art in the park, Kennesaw’s art scene is one to watch.

Sales from these items will benefit the Marietta Arts Council and our future initiatives.
