Artist Statement:
I believe that art does not need to be shocking to possess value. Instead, I strive to create works that captivate viewers, transporting them to a place of refuge or sanctuary and bringing a sense of peace. Amid today’s violence, healing art is crucial. Through my art, I aim to evoke unity, balance, and wholeness.
The materials I use include aged roofing tin, wood, steel, bronze, glass and copper. I am particularly inspired by ancient symbols and structures. My sculpture pieces are created using the concepts found in sacred geometry, the foundational building blocks of our world. The compositions of my pieces are designed to center the viewer, inviting them to explore the lines and intersections that create a harmonious whole.
Artist Bio:
Beau has exhibited in various shows in the southeast including Caldwell Arts Council, Arts Fields in SC, solo shows at the Old Rock School House gallery in Valdese, NC Storefront Gallery in Valdese, NC.
• He was awarded a regional artist grant from the North Carolina Arts Council in 2013.
• He has been selected to exhibit at Arts Field in Lake City, SC 2015,2017,2018,2019.2021, 2022
• Finalist in North Charleston National Outdoor Competition & Exhibition 2018,2020,2021. Awarded best in show 2021 for Give Me Shelter
• Was awarded third place in the 33rd Rosen National Outdoor Competition & Exhibition. Finalist 34th Rosen 2019 Honorable Mention 37th Rosen
• He was awarded best in show in 2017 & 2018 at the Lenoir Sculpture Celebration. Judge’s merit award 2019 and 2021, Third place 2022
